Sunshine Blogger Award.

Thank you so much to @remarkablylisa for the nomination of the Sunshine Blogger Award, I feel so grateful that you would consider my blog for this. 1. One book you hated but everyone loved
I’m going to slightly bend the rules of this question, because I wouldn’t say I hated the book I just didn’t enjoy it as much as everyone else and that was Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. (Please don’t shoot me) I really struggled to get into this book, I think it was hyped up too much for me, that I went into it expecting a-lot.

2. One book that made you cry
   Me Before You by JoJo Moyes – big, ugly crying. This book broke me.

3. What’s your favourite thing about blogging?
   Being part of a community that share my love for books, at first I was worried nobody would want to hear my thoughts or read anything I have to say. (My anxiety makes me question myself daily) I love coming onto my blog and reading a comment about my post, I love reading other blogs and being able to fangirl together. I also love interacting with people from all over the world.

4. Do you judge a book by its popular opinions?
   Yes, I want to say no but the truth is I think we are all in some way influenced by popular opinions. If tons of people tell me to try a book because it’s amazing I will go into a book with high expectations thinking this is going to be great. BUT do I let them influence my final thoughts? I would say no, if I don’t like a popular book then I will say so and I will explain which bits I don’t like.

5. Do you think your opinions of a book are influenced because of others?
   This question is sort of linked to my answer for question 5, like I mentioned I think we can all be influenced initially by other people’s opinions but I don’t think my opinions are influenced. I like to say what I didn’t like about a book that others may love, or for those that hated a book I like explaining why I might like it. Discussing a book with other people allows you to see it in new ways you might not have considered so sometimes my reviews or thoughts can change but that’s based on discussion rather than influence. J

6. How would you convince someone to give books a try?
   My usual tactics are going on about them until they crack and decide to give my recommendation a try, it’s how I convinced my sister to start reading more. Now she’s with me half the time I’m at the bookstore. In all honesty, I find it strange that people don’t want to read for themselves. I literally stand there hands over my head like ‘why?!’.

 Books have the power to take us to so many different worlds where we can experience magic, fantasy and love, who wouldn’t want that?

7. Reader or writer?
Reader- In a later question I mention how I get inspired and have tons of story ideas running round in my head, pair that with an overactive imagination and you’d think I could be a writer. As much as I would love to be, I have little faith in my writing so I will stick with reader. However if you’re interested to know I decided to take a unit next year for my third year at university called Reading and Writing Children’s Literature, it will be my first creative writing course and who knows maybe one day I could be the next J.K Rowling because you know #goals.

8. One book you liked the movie better than the book
   I’m going to throw out Gone Girl by Gillian Finn. I preferred the movie simply because I really struggled to get into the book. I do think that I need to give this book another chance at some point and try again. Let me know if you have read it and you think I should give it another go.

9. What’s one troupe you love?
   I love the bad boy male protagonist and the good girl, two characters you wouldn’t expect to go together becoming romance interests. Sort of like Jace and Clary and Will and Tessa, the cocky gorgeous male who usually has ‘easier’ woman going for the quiet female character who actually turns out equally as feisty. Does that make sense?

10. If you had to bring one book to a desert island, which one would you pick?
    The Mortal Instruments – City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. This book is what made me fall back in love with reading, it’s my all-time favourite series and it ignites so much creative inspiration in me. I always get little ideas for stories based on Jace and Clary, I think bringing a book I not only love to read and what inspires me would keep me entertained for years. 

11. Best book of 2016 so far.
    Me Before You by JoJo Moyes, this book was both heart-breaking and hilarious at the same time. I think this will remain my favourite all year, I’m looking forward to the movie release as well.
