Title: Dirty
Author: Kylie Scott
Genre: N/A Romance
Rating: 4 Stars
Summary:Goodreads
The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.
Lydia Green doesn’t know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it’s with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.
Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she’d marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he’s all wrong-maybe it’s time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

Review:
Dirty is the first book in the Dive Bar series by Kylie Scott, New York Time Bestselling Author. Like many of my other recent reads, this was my first experience with Kylie Scott as an author and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book.
Dirty is a fast paced, light hearted romance novel that took me no time to finish reading, it is definitely a book I would recommend for those looking for something easy to get into, a book to wind down with.
Firstly when I say the book is fast paced, I truly mean that things move very quickly for Lydia and Vaughn. Although this fast pace doesn’t hinder the story to a large extent, the introduction Lydia has to Vaughn means they already know somewhat intimate details of each other lives. I mean Vaughn finding Lydia in his bath in her wedding dress having just ran out of her wedding and through his bedroom window surely means they are ahead in the getting to know each other scale… a little bit at least.
I decided to rate Dirty 4 stars because I had hoped for the pace to slow down so we could experience certain elements to the story in more detail, for example Lydia’s fiance is revealed to be gay (this isn’t a spoiler because it is in the books summary ) which his father pays Lydia generously to hide from the press in order to save their reputation. Yet he then jets off onto the honeymoon he was meant to have with Lydia with his best man/lover… Then we don’t seem to hear anything else about what happens next, I had hoped for more of a conflict or more detail regarding this element to the story however it almost felt like it was brushed under the carpet whilst Vaughn and Lydia took center stage.
Despite having felt like the story could of been more developed and detailed in some instances I did still thoroughly enjoy Dirty, I liked Vaughn and Lydia’s relationship. I liked how despite having just met he took her under his wing and protected her knowing she had been manipulated and used by the people she thought loved her. As you can probably work out in places the story felt like it lacked something, it picked up in others especially in the personal relationship blossoming between our two protagonists.
One to check out for those who are fans of light hearted, easy to read New Adult Romances
