J.K Rowling’s Wizarding World Unboxing

Hi Guys!

Today I am coming at you with my first ever Unboxing for the J.K Rowling Wizarding World Crate produced by Loot Crate. I’m sure you all know how much of a crazy Harry Potter fangirl I am, I mean I talk about it ALL the time.

The J.K Rowling’s Wizarding World Box costs £39.00 with shipping included so it may seem a little on the pricey side but it only ships every odd month whereas other subscriptions boxes ship every month and cost around the same. I personally like how it’s only a subscription box that ships every odd month rather than every month, it makes me more excited to receive it.

This months theme was ‘Enchanting Essentials.’ There are numerous plans you can pick for this box depending on your size and house because all their boxes come with at least one item of clothing. I, myself chose Gryffindor and the Medium size because I tend to wear the t-shirts to bed.

5 majorly under-rated Harry Potter characters #harrypotter20

Hey Guys!

Welcome back to my Harry Potter Week to celebrate Monday’s anniversary of 20 years of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. I still can’t believe it will have been 20 years?! I’m currently reading Prisoner of Azkaban again and loving reliving the first journeys of Harry and the gang. Today’s post is my Top 5 Under-rated Harry Potter characters.

We all know Movies can’t last forever, they must have a running time that isn’t too long or too short so sadly not everything in a book can be added.
I mean I would definitely watch a 6 hour Harry Potter movie, no problem…
If you have only seen the Potter Movies and not read the books then I must suggest you really try to read the books because there is so much detail and adventure you are missing out on. The books could truly change your thoughts about some of the characters!

Without further ado here are my picks for under-rated characters;

Ginny Weasley

ginny

I feel like Ginny Weasley is the ultimate under-rated character of all time. She still doesn’t have a Funko Pop for her and we even have Dementors?! I need that in my life.
Book Ginny and Movie Ginny for me were rather different, the movies played her role down in parts and sometimes made her seem weak. For example in Chamber of Secrets, I wish the movie would have showcased more of Ginny’s journey and how strong she is. In the book you really get to hear about her struggle with reading Tom Riddle’s Diary and the journey she went on herself throughout that year.

Of course she is also goes on tons of other adventures being part of Dumbledore’s Army and fighting in the Battle of Hogwarts.

Cedric Diggory

cedric

I can’t believe that if I hadn’t have read the Potter books I never would of found out that Cedric features in Prisoner of Azkaban! I wish they had included those moments in the movie, especially Hufflepuff vs Gryffindor’s Quidditch game. The demise of Cedric breaks my heart everytime but if we were able to see him in the movies outside of Goblet of Fire too I think it would of hit even harder.

Luna Lovegood

luna

Until reading the Potter books I really questioned how Luna could be people’s favourite character. Whilst I loved her in the movies I never really felt like we knew too much about Luna but in the books we really get to see more about her character and she is so much more present in the stories.

I love her little quips and I find her so inspiring now, she never let things get her down. When people called her ‘looney luna’ or hid all her belongings she didn’t get angry and she didn’t let them get to her. She carried on being who she was.

Tonks and Lupin

lupin and tonks

My heart. These two.

The movies miss out so much between Lupin and Tonks. Their is so much backstory behind these two and the fact it isn’t shown too much in the film, I think alot of people under-rate them. Lupin and Tonks are the cutest and their relationship wasn’t easy.
The fact they stay in the Battle of Hogwarts rather than hiding with their baby really shows their nature and I will always cry for these two.

Cho Chang

cho chang

It’s been a while since I’ve watched the movies but I don’t remember ever seeing how Cho Chang was the Ravenclaw Seeker?! I may be wrong and my memory might be failing me right now but Cho Chang is so under-rated. She is an amazing Seeker, Smart and she plays a slightly bigger role in the books than the movies.

And one for good luck…

Dean Thomas

dean thomas

Ginny Weasley’s ex-boyfriend… Dean himself has such a good backstory which isn’t really extensively showcased in the movies. In the books Dean himself goes on the run because he is unable to prove his own Wizarding line. He defends Lupin to Umbridge, becomes a member of Dumbledore’s Army and fights in the Battle of Hogwarts. I personally love Dean throughout the books, I love how he’s known to support West Ham (football team) and how Ron pokes at his posters because the pictures don’t move.

Dean is definitely an under-rated character!

So there we have my list of Under-rated characters. I’m sure there are more I could have added but these always stick with me. I with they were showcased and loved more because they deserve it.

Let me know if you think any other characters are majorly under-rated! I would love to discuss this in the comments!

Wizarding Wares and Places I wish were real!

Hey Guys!

Today’s post is Wizarding Wares and Places I wish were real. Harry Potter is full of things I wish were real, I mean I wish the whole world was and Hogwarts was a school I went too. But because these sorts of posts are particularly popular I decided to make this a little smaller and only include things that weren’t too obvious so you won’t see wands, brooms and invisibility cloaks on this list.

A Very Potter Week – 20th Anniversary!

harry potter banner

Hello everyone!

As you may or may not know Monday 26th June 2017 marks the 20th Anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone. 20 Years. Can you believe that?
20 years ago I was 2 years old and doing what I don’t know. But 20 Years ago J.K Rowling and Bloomsbury brought Harry Potter and Hogwarts alive and the story is so iconic that it is still loved today.

Can we just take a moment to acknowledge that J.K Rowling has sold more than 450 Million Copies in 79 Languages. She is the first person to be taken off the Forbes richest person list because of how much money she gave to charity, she has set up Lumos and changed a-lot of our lives. So to mark the 20th Anniversary I am going to be doing ‘A Very Potter Week!’ Leading up to the 26th June.

This week is going to be filled with fun posts and of course I will be re-reading the books. Although the books will most definitely take me longer than a week to read so it may turn into a Very Potter Month for me…  Here are a few sneak peeks on what you can expect.

Harry Potter Week schedule

If you wish to follow my rereading journey then be sure to follow me on Twitter and my Goodreads. So we can share this moment together!

I have a bunch of posts already planned but if you would like to see anything in particular then comment below with your ideas.

Have a magical week Guys and remember DON’T LET THE MUGGLES GET YOU DOWN.

Summer Reading Plan

Hey Guys!

Guess who’s back?! Gosh how I have missed my blog, reading and talking to you guys. As you know I have been on a hiatus so that I could concentrate on finishing up third year and as of the other day (16th) I am officially done with my undergraduate degree. *Cue Tears* This means this will be my first summer I can read freely without having a big reading list to get done before September. I’m not entirely sure what I’m going to do with my life now. I guess I’ll decide after graduation but I do have a reading plan!
