The unpopular opinions tag has been floating around booktube and book blogs for a while now and I thought now was finally the time I put on my big girl pants and shared some of my unpopular opinions too. So here are 5 books which I didn’t really like…

A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness | Spoiler Free Review

A world of witches, daemons and vampires. A manuscript which holds the secrets of their past and the key to their future. Diana and Matthew – the forbidden love at the heart of it.

When historian Diana Bishop opens an alchemical manuscript in the Bodleian Library, it’s an unwelcome intrusion of magic into her carefully ordered life. Though Diana is a witch of impeccable lineage, the violent death of her parents while she was still a child convinced her that human fear is more potent than any witchcraft. Now Diana has unwittingly exposed herself to a world she’s kept at bay for years; one of powerful witches, creative, destructive daemons and long-lived vampires. Sensing the significance of Diana’s discovery, the creatures gather in Oxford, among them the enigmatic Matthew Clairmont, a vampire genticist. Diana is inexplicably drawn to Matthew and, in a shadowy world of half-truths and old enmities, ties herself to him without fully understanding the ancient line they are crossing. As they begin to unlock the secrets of the manuscript and their feelings for each other deepen, so the fragile balance of peace unravels…

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir | Spoiler Free Review

What if you were the spark that could ignite a revolution?

For years Laia has lived in fear. Fear of the Empire, fear of the Martials, fear of truly living at all. Born as a Scholar, she’s never had much of a choice.

For Elias it’s the opposite. He has seen too much on his path to becoming a Mask, one of the Empire’s elite soldiers. With the Masks’ help the Empire has conquered a continent and enslaved thousands, all in the name of power.

When Laia’s brother is taken she must force herself to help the Resistance, the only people who have a chance of saving him. She must spy on the Commandant, ruthless overseer of Blackcliff Academy. Blackcliff is the training ground for Masks and the very place that Elias is planning to escape. If he succeeds, he will be named deserter. If found, the punishment will be death.

But once Laia and Elias meet, they will find that their destinies are intertwined and that their choices will change the fate of the Empire itself.

In the ashes of a broken world one person can make a difference. One voice in the dark can be heard. The price of freedom is always high and this time that price might demand everything, even life itself.

Sarah J. Maas Title Reveal!

As you may know, I am a HUGE Sarah J.Maas fan… although I am yet to read Tower of Dawn and Kingdom of Ash but I promise I love her work I just suck at smashing my TBR pile.

Sarah for me, is an author I love because I find her writing consistenly great. She is an author that some love and some hate but for me I know I will always easily fall into her world. I lose myself in her writing style and characters so easily so when I heard she was bringing out another fantasy series I was SO happy.  This is actually going to be her first ever adult fantasy series and today the title has been revealed, are you ready…

Drum Roll Please…

Blogging and Reading 2018 Resolutions

Happy New Year fellow Book lovers!

I’ve been thinking lately how I don’t really set New Year’s Resolutions but this year something has been nagging at me to set them for my reading and blogging goals. The end of 2016 and start of 2017 were hard times and 2017 was a year of so many exciting things for me such as graduating from university. I hold a BA in English Literature now. I got accepted onto two masters programme’s and chose to do an MA in English Studies. My blog reached 500 followers, I started receiving Physical Arcs, I got invited to go down to London to an exhibition as part of a blogger/press thing. (I couldn’t go but the opportunity was still amazing)

But the year was also really hard, my anxiety gave me so many hurdles I had to try jump over. My dad, brother and sister all had health scares. We are losing another love one who is fighting a battle with cancer. 2018 will be another hard year but I’m pledging here and now that i’m also going to make sure it’s an amazing one.

So here are my 2018 Reading and Blogging specific goals:

Discussion: Feeling Lost in the Book Community

Hey Guys,

It’s been a week or so since my last post, I’m sorry about that. I had so many idea’s for Christmas gift guides and just christmassy posts but life has been hectic, between my masters degree and my job I feel like there is no time. Today I wanted to do a discussion post on something which has been niggling at me for a while and it’s feeling lost in the book community.

Save to Stack Those Shelves | Free & Cheap Books

Hey Guys and Welcome Back!

Can you believe we are already in November? I can’t!
Time is going by so quickly and I believe the year will be over with a blink of an eye. But in the meantime I want to come at you with some Money Saving posts!

Like me i’m assuming your here because you love books? You probably have an addiction to buying books as well don’t you? Hey no judging I promise. I’m guilty for that addiction. Lately I have been seeing so many good deals across the internet for books and I took to twitter to ask if you would like to see a post on this and some of you said yes. So here we are.
Rather than do a giant post on all the deals I have found, I have decided I will be doing individual posts dedicated to that place so that it’s not a super long post. Considering it’s nearly Christmas I thought this would be another great addition to my blog as we could all use that little bit extra of a saving at Christmas right?

**Please note that obviously I am not sponsored by any of the sites which I am featuring**

Today I am coming to you with Amazon deals!

Amazon for me is my go to place for buying books. I have Amazon Prime so I love being able to receive my orders the next day. Amazon is also full of amazing deals from super cheap to FREE books. So let’s explore what it has to offer shall we?

Today’s post is going to be a review of The Winner’s Curse Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski. I ran a Poll on twitter to find out if people would like individual reviews for the series or if they would prefer me grouping them together and grouped won. This is going to be something I haven’t really done before so I hope you like this review like this. As always I’m going to try (I shall succeed) to be as spoiler free as possible.
