I won a giveaway…

On the 5th April I received an email through from Kat, owner of the wonderful blog Life and Other Disasters. Firstly I suggest you all go check out her blog, she regularly posts reviews, tags as well as one of my favourite features ‘Trailers you may have missed this week’. This section is my favourite because she includes a variety of films and like the title of the section suggests, I always find a bunch of trailers I have yet to see. Therefore once I have finished reading, I end up finding a new film to fan-girl about it’s upcoming release.

Kat recently held a giveaway on her blog for an array of different prizes, one being Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell and I won a copy!!

Here is an accurate representation of how I looked when I found out I had won:

A few days ago I received the book in the mail and Kat also took the time to include a lovely little letter alongside the book. She mentions in the letter that she is ‘reminded how important it is to find like – minded people and I am glad to have this blogging community always backing me up’ and I cannot agree more. The blogging community is so welcoming and I am so grateful to be accepted into such an amazing community, I love being apart of this community and having a place where I can talk about books with people who share my love.

Thank you so much for holding the giveaway Kat, I can’t wait till I can get round to reading Kindred Spirits!

Be sure to check out her blog: Life and Other Disasters 🙂

The Hunger Games, Mockingjay Part 2

[Pause for my screaming]

As you may or may not know, I am a huge fan of The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins and Lionsgate’s Movie Franchises so much so that I am actually basing my Dissertation around The Hunger Games, hopefully. My fingers are crossed because I have to wait to see if my proposal gets accepted. Anyway  I sadly never had the chance to see the movie in the cinema so I finally just managed to watch it after receiving the DVD in the mail on Monday and I am almost lost for words.

Firstly it’s been a while since I have read the books therefore I cannot remember if it follows it completely or not, I remember the key parts in the book regarding Prue which the movie includes as well as Finnick and other points but I can’t say for definite if it takes its own turns. Although from what I can remember I’m sure it follows the books very well.

I just can’t believe that, that’s it now. No more waiting around for the next film, its so sad to think that its over. Of course the books will always be here and the movies so I can continuously watch and read them religiously but it is still sad when a franchise that has been part of your life for so many years draws to a close. Another thing you may not know about me is the fact that I get very emotionally invested in films/books/ even TV couples. I still feel sad about the end of Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Twilight, Harry Potter and Elena leaving the Vampire Diaries (She needs to come back).

Ultimately I believe that Mockingjay Part 2 was a wonderful ending to say the least to a brilliant franchise, it was as exciting and heartbreaking as the first movie. This franchise has done a wonderful job in each and every movie, the action scenes were fantastic, the romantic elements heart warming or heart breaking. Overall every film has rendered me an emotional mess throughout. In-fact throughout this movie  I found myself on numerous occasions screaming, whether it be from the Game Keepers pods placed around the Capitol or when a character died or was injured. Obviously the TV didn’t hear me in relation to Finnick ‘no, what are you doing. Help!!!!’ . It was a moment I knew was going to happen but I was still  so shocked.

The cast sure need a good applause for their performances of these characters, Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson played a wonderful team, I really hope they manage to work alongside each other again in the future. The chemistry between each of them was amazing, they truly brought the characters and the movie as a whole to life for me and I will hold the characters dear in my heart for a long time. I will also ship Katniss and Peeta forever, the epilogue to this movie was a perfect ending and a contrast to the horror they faced throughout the movies. They finally achieved a version of bliss.

Finally having just finished watching the movie I had to immediately come onto my blog and rant/rave about it. Therefore this is not a review more like my thoughts, although if this was a review then 10/10 stars!

I’m definitely going to reread and re-watch the movies once I have got my essays and exams out the way. I need to immerse myself in the world of Katniss Everdeen once again.

Let me know in the comments What were your thoughts on the movie? and if you Are  sad its over?

Movie Madness

This post is inspired by Kat Impossible who runs the wonderful blog Life and Other Disasters where every week she incorporates a post on new trailers that have been recently released, it is here I find the new trailers I have yet to see pop up on my Youtube homepage and she is the reason I find so many great films I want to watch. Therefore this post is dedicated to ‘Movie Madness’ which I may make into a regular feature where I will be talking about 5 trailers I have seen recently for movies that have left me with a burning desire to watch them as soon as possible. These 5 trailers could be for upcoming movie releases, recent or even for movies already out. So without further ado here are the 5 trailers for this week…
The Danish Girl
Drama | Eddie Redmayne | Alicia Vikander

‘The remarkable love story inspired by the lives of artists Lili Elbe and Gerda Wegener. Lili and Gerda’s marriage and work evolve as they navigate Lili’s groundbreaking journey as a transgender pioneer.’
Thoughts: I finally decided to give the Trailer for The Danish Girl a chance after watching The Oscars 2016, Alicia Vikander won the category of Best Supporting Actress and I realised I had always skipped passed the trailer when it came on my screen and I really needed to give it a chance. I found the trailer to begin to incite emotions from me just within the 2 minute trailer alone and I think this is a film I will actually really enjoy with it being based on a true story.

Drama | Brie Larson | Jacob Tremblay

‘Held captive for years in an enclosed space, a woman and her 5-year-old son finally gain their freedom, allowing the boy to experience the outside world for the first time’
Thoughts: Similarly to The Danish Girl, after watching The Oscars and witnessing Brie Larson win her award for Best Actress for this movie I watched the Trailer immediately and it made me cry, just from the 2 minutes of the trailer as you could see the heart-breaking story this movie will take you through. This movie is based on the bestselling novel by Emma Donoghue also titled ‘Room’, after reading an array of reviews [all giving the movie high star ratings] it’s safe to say I’m looking forward to this one.

Historical Drama | Helena Bonham Carter | Meryl Streep | Carey Mulligan

‘SUFFRAGETTE is the first ever feature film to tell the inspirational story of the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement who risked everything in the fight for equality’

Thoughts: SUFFRAGETTE is actually a movie that was recommended to me by my best-friend, I hadn’t seen the trailer anywhere prior to her watching the movie herself which I was rather shocked about. I would have expected to have seen it on the internet or television somewhere, but I’ve always been curious and interested into the story of the SUFFRAGETTES and I’m really looking forward to seeing how this movie depicts that story and the age in which these strong women were living in and fighting for our equal rights. (Does it make me terrible that I do not know the full expansive history of the New Women and the Suffragette Movement? – We were never taught this at school but it is something I’ve been interested in and I am going to research more in-depth)

Historical Drama | Saoirse Ronan | Emory Cohen | Domhnall Gleeson

‘An Irish immigrant (Saoirse Ronan) in 1950s New York falls for a tough Italian plumber (Emory Cohen), but faces temptation from another man (Domhnall Gleeson) when she returns to her homeland for a visit’
Thoughts: I have watched the trailer for Brooklyn a number of times and I still haven’t gotten around to watching it [Kicking myself]. I adore Saoirse Ronan, I think she is a wonderfully talented actress and finally a movie in which she can use her lovely Irish Accent! I’m looking forward to Brooklyn as the trailer depicts the premise of a love triangle as Saoirse’s character must return back home to Ireland after moving to America in the hopes of a better life and who doesn’t love a good love triangle element. The fact that this movie is set in 1950’s New York is also what is making this movie appeal so much to me, I have always been drawn to the clothes and style of this moment in history. Finally the concept of the movie itself is really intriguing and I’m looking forward to how the movie portrays Saoirse’s character first arriving in New York and if it tackles her feeling like an outsider in anyway alongside the romantic elements.

Me Before You
Romantic Drama | Emilia Clarke | Sam Claflin

‘Young and quirky Louisa “Lou” Clark (Emilia Clarke) moves from one job to the next to help her family make ends meet. Her cheerful attitude is put to the test when she becomes a caregiver for Will Traynor (Sam Claflin), a wealthy young banker left paralyzed from an accident two years earlier. Will’s cynical outlook starts to change when Louisa shows him that life is worth living. As their bond deepens, their lives and hearts change in ways neither one could have imagined’

Thoughts: Last but certainly not least, Me Before You.
Ah I have been recommended the book by JoJo Moyes a number of times and I placed it on my TBR pile and never thought of it again, until Christmas when I bought my mum the book to see if she would get round to reading it faster than me and inspire me to finally pick it up…She didn’t! But I am inspired to read the book prior to this movie release as the story looks both beautiful and heart-breaking.
In terms of casting I have to say I think they have done a tremendous job by hiring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin for the two main protagonists. Individually they are both wonderfully talented actors but together, from what I can sense from the trailer and the emotions it ignites within me I believe they will have true chemistry and be phenomenal.
That’s a wrap…
As you can see each of these movies lean towards a more serious tone incorporating the Drama Genre, so I may have to make sure to watch some comedies in between each of these movies to give myself a happiness boost. I can’t comment too much on these films based of their trailers alone so I just hope they live up to the stories depicted in their trailers and the reviews of critics who have watched them. I am truly looking forward to watching each of them and I might come back with some reviews for them if any of you would be interested in something like that? Let me know in the comments. Also Are there any movies on here you have seen? If so what did you think of them or are you looking forward to watching any movies from this list yourself? Again; Let me know in the comments below, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Movie Recommendation – Romcom.

Movie Recommendation

Film: 10 Things I hate about you (1999) | Genre: Romantic Comedy/ Drama

Summary:  Cameron (Joseph Gordon – Levitt) is the new kid in high school, in order to date Bianca Stanford (Larisa Oleynik)  the girl he has a crush on; he must find a guy to date her older sister Kat (Julia Stiles), also known as the meanest girl in school. It isn’t a task to take lightly especially considering even their father has rules such as ‘you don’t date until Kat does’.  Is their any chance for Cameron to succeed? [10 things I hate about you – IMDB]

I am a huge fan of movies especially romantic comedies from the 1980’s and 90’s, I love the old school feel of them and I believe you really can’t beat these films. Therefore I have decided to create some posts offering recommendations for some of my favourite films whilst also offering small reviews in the hopes of inspiring you into watching your all time favourites once again or perhaps find a new film to enjoy.

10 things I hate about you was first released in 1999 and I was born in 1994, so I obviously wasn’t introduced to this film until way after it’s release date. I can’t remember the year exactly but it would of been back when I was in Secondary School (High School). Since then I have watched it an abundance of times, I could sit and watch it regularly without getting bored not just because the male protagonist Patrick Verona is played by Heath Ledger and that’s a massive plus in itself but because I still find the film as emotionally moving as the first time I ever experienced it. That right there is a powerful tool for a movie to hold considering the sheer amount of times I have watched the film.

10 Things I hate about you is set in a high school setting, therefore it is focused on Teenagers. I found myself relating to the environment and the characters themselves on some levels, I think despite this film being a comedy of sorts anybody will be able to watch the film and draw similarities between their own experiences of high school with that represented in the film.

As a whole the film is truly a romantic journey between a number of couples which each add to the progression of the film in someway. In some sense their is betrayal as well as romance, comedy and drama but the movie is definitely a ‘feel good’ movie and an emotional roller coaster to say the least. I hate spoiler sue’s so I refuse to reveal any key information or ruin a film for anybody but the poetry scene [you’ll know which one I’m on about when you watch it or if you have watched it before] makes me cry every single time. It’s beautiful, up until that moment in the film the progression of the two main protagonists Kat and Patrick had been developing and as the audience you feel the tension and the emotions for them.

10 things I hate about you will always be a film I go back to on a day where I need a pick me up, a blast from the past or just a day/night of watching films I know I enjoy.

Have you ever watched 10 things I hate about you? If so let me know in the comments what your thoughts of the movie were or what is one of your go to movies to put you in a good mood!

Considering tomorrow is February 14th therefore Valentines Day, I figured I would dedicate a post to my top 10 OTP [one true pairings], however to make this post a little different I figured I would  ‘mix up’ my list a little bit so rather than only being focused on my favourite Young Adult Book Couples it would include both books and TV Shows. Now that doesn’t seem like too hard a task now does it? Well considering i’m a  complete movie and TV addict and I get so emotionally invested into couples/shows it actually proved rather difficult… but without further ado, here are my Top 10 picks for One True Pairings…

1| Jace Herondale and Clary Fairchild

The Mortal Instruments – Cassandra Clare

Choosing my number 1 spot for OTP was easy because i’m a die hard Clace fan.

Jace and Clary  have always been my favourite couple from any book fandom but I was also a big fan of the coupling from the movie and now the TV Show. Choosing them was easy  but choosing Clary’s last name for this post was hard. Fray, Fairchild and Morgenstern? Boy does that girl have some last names…

2|   Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Harry Potter Series – JK. Rowling

Aw Ron and Hermione.

I’m the Harry Potter fan that did it backwards… I watched the Movies before finally reading the books which I am still yet to finish [i’m terrible, I know] but I loved Hermione and Ron’s relationship and how Rupert and Emma worked so well together to bring such chemistry even from the first film.

3|  Jackson Avery and April Kepner

Greys Anatomy

Just thinking of Jackson and April makes me want to cry, why Shonda are you throwing words like Divorce at us? NO.

I have been such a big fan of April and Jackson from their first scenes in Greys Anatomy, their the couple I first search for in the new episodes wanting to find out what happens next to them. Season 11 was heart breaking; I really hope theirs some hope for them in Season 12. I wouldn’t cope if they were split up indefinitely.

4|    Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen

The Hunger Games – Suzanne Collins

Peeta and Katniss Forever, I was never a fan of Gale. He actually annoyed me as a prospect of Katniss’ love interest, I much preferred him just as her best-friend. It just never seemed right with me, whereas I was rooting for Peeta throughout the books and in turn the films.

5|Dimitri Belikov and Rose Hathaway

The Vampire Academy – Richelle Mead

This OTP is more for the book than the film whilst I did enjoy the movie, I found myself more in love with the relationship of Rose and Dimitri in the book. I wasn’t 100% keen on the actor who portrayed Dimitri in the movie, he didn’t really fit the image I had in my head.

6|  Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf

Gossip Girl

The couple of all couples, Blair and Chuck are just… there are no words to describe them. Blair teaches Chuck how to love and it’s beautiful.

I miss Gossip Girl so much.

7| Stefan Salvatore and Elena Gilbert

The Vampire Diaries

Now this one may shock you because like Twilight we have the two teams; Team Stefan or Team Damon and in all honesty I have always been Team Stefan. I’m not saying I haven’t loved the relationship of ‘Delena’ shown in the later seasons of The Vampire Diaries because I have and it has broken my heart but I have always prefered Stefan and Elena together. Seasons 1 and 2 of The Vampire Diaries will always be my favourite, when Elena was a human and it showed her relationship with Stefan.

I actually haven’t watched any of The Vampire Diaries since Elena’s ‘death’, I’m not entirely sure what to call it but since Nina Dobrev left I just can’t bring myself to watch it. She was such a huge part of the show for me that I can’t imagine what it is like without her.

8| William Herondale and Tessa Gray

will and tessa
The Infernal Devices – Cassandra Clare

Can we all just take a moment to applaud Cassandra Clare on her writing ability and thank her for bringing us not only Jace and Clary but Will and Tessa too. I was rooting for Will throughout the books, I wasn’t very keen on Tessa’s relationship with Jem. Like The Hunger Games with Gale, it just didn’t work for me. Maybe it’s because I was rooting for Will so much…

[I do not own the picture]

9|Leonard Hofstadter and Penny

The Big Bang Theory

I’m not sure if I have ever mentioned it before but I am a HUGE fan of The Big Bang Theory and I have always rooted for Penny and Leonard. I hated the time he was with Priya or Penny with Zack or any guy really because they are truly meant to be.

As you can see the title does not include Penny’s last name and that’s because we don’t actually know it. Like Prince, Cher and Madonna, Penny is just Penny…

10| Four and Tris

Divergent – Veronica Roth

Be still my beating heart…

This OTP is also off the Movie adaptation for Divergent because I also haven’t got around to reading the trilogy by Veronica Roth. It’s literally sat on my book shelf and I’m not sure why I haven’t actually picked it up yet… Should I hurry up and bite the bullet and get it read?

So there it is, my TOP 10 OTP’s for both Young Adult books and TV shows. What are your favourite OTP’s or your favourite TV Shows? Let me know in the comments so we can discuss!

I’m going to probably go and watch episodes of Greys Anatomy now and cry… so sad… but so so good.

TV Time Thursday!

With deadlines looming over me I fell behind on some of my TV programmes, but after having a bad day so far I realised I needed to spend some time with myself and catch up on some shows so I finally sat down and caught up with Shadowhunters.

After the first episode I was left unsure about the show, being a big fan of the books I prayed I would become more interested and invested in the show. I can safely say after watching up to episode 5; I am hooked. My first initial thoughts with episode 1 were that I wasn’t sure on the casting and the editing style had left it rather choppy, in the hopes of fitting as much content as possibly into the running time. However from episodes 2-5 I found myself liking the cast more, i’m beginning to feel the tension between Jace and Clary as well as Simon and Isabelle. Who may I just add is turning out to be my favourite character in the TV series, played by Emeraude Toubia she is exactly how I imagined Isabelle to look but her take on Isabelle’s personality allows us to feel both funny and heart warming moments.  Not to mention how beautiful is she?! Anyway… The characters are beginning to really take form for me and they are really working together.

One aspect I liked from Episode 5 was the introduction of Maryse Lightwood and how she had a stony exterior towards Isabelle but was warm and willing to hug Jace and Alec. The emotion shown on Emeraude’s face was truly exquisite as she had previously just stated to Clary that ‘Shadowhunters are not really huggers’, the heartbreak and sadness is evident.

With the new episodes we have been introduced to some new characters; Camille and Magnus being just two. The introduction of Magnus was really well done, I like the tension between him and Alec and how they are sharing little moments and looks between one another. I’m looking forward to see how their relationship develops. I’m also loving Luke being on the police force as it’s adding a whole new element to the story, allowing us to see how the ‘mundane society’ acknowledge the mysterious deaths or disappearances.

From the first episode I feel like Episodes 2-5 have feel picked up in terms of quality as previously mentioned the editing is less choppy and the episodes flow smoother but there are more comedic moments to make you laugh as the characters share little banterous moments between one another. Also the action scenes have improved and they are truly keeping me interested and excited with the action and demon scenes. [Who doesn’t love a good scene of a Vampire exploding in the sunlight?!]

Overall I am so happy I have fallen into this series, I like how it differs from the books in numerous ways because it allows us to be able to feel anticipation in not knowing what will happen next or how something will be portrayed. The cast is really working well for me, I can’t wait till next week for Episode 6.

Have you been watching Shadowhunters? Let me know your thoughts in the comments, I would love to discuss it!

Making a Murderer – Episode 4

I started watching Making a Murderer the other night despite my deadlines. I couldn’t resist anymore and I’m currently on Episode 4. Now I needed to start blogging about my experience with this documentary because 1) It is brilliant 2) I am constantly so confused and 3) I need to rant and discuss it.

I was utterly shocked with the treatment of Steven Avery in the first initial episodes, sure technology wasn’t up to the standards we have now back when he was first arrested in regards to the ‘Attempted Rape’ case but the complete lack of disregard for the truth was startling. I could not fathom how the police were clearly ignoring the real evidence in order to pin this on Steven, the simple fact that he had 20+ alibis for that day wasn’t enough. What all 20 people were lying about different times of the day? Come on. Seriously?

Episode 4 brought up ALOT of  thoughts/ questions. Alot of the information on the Police side really didn’t add up or make sense to me;

  • Firstly it is very clear that Brendan was being coerced by the 2 investigators. They were asking closed questions; there was no other option but for Brendan to agree. Not to mention he was alone, with no lawyer and without his mums knowledge?
  • Brendan takes long pauses as he is clearly guessing what they want him to say and he later explains this to his mum himself ‘I was guessing like I do for my homework’, he was guessing what they wanted to hear. He knew there was a right answer in their heads so he continued until they said yes.
  • Brendan asked how much longer the interview would take stating that at 1.29 he had a project due for sixth period at school. Yet the investigator had said to him ‘You can sleep now, I bet you haven’t living with that’. Well he’s just asked them about when he can go back to school so he can hand in a project? He clearly doesn’t understand that they are interviewing him seriously.

2)  The Key (Evidence)   / House

  • The Key to Theresa’s car was found on the floor in front of the door as soon as you enter the bedroom next to a pair of slippers, in plain site. The police didn’t find this until the 7th entry? The bedroom was tiny, there was no chance they could of missed that, bare in mind their first entry was recorded by the Sheriff Department? Did they not look that hard? It was in front of their eyes.
  • When police look for evidence they do a thorough sweep of the house, they look for blood splattering etc. Did they not do any of this?
  • Why did the key only have Steven Avery’s DNA on it as well, Theresa had driven that car up there and they would of been in her hand so where did her DNA go?

In terms of the car, the police also state that the car had Steven Avery’s blood in there but none of his finger prints were found, so what? He wore gloves and swung his hands around after cutting himself? Wouldn’t his DNA be around the area where he touched in order for the blood to be on the surfaces. Baring in mind the cut Steven had was on his hand therefore his fingerprints would of been on that area?

  • Why were the police in the house 18 times! Looking for evidence, even a member of the Police Force commented how bad this was. They never go in that many times unless that have to go in a 2nd time to look for what they missed.
  • The first time they search the house when the Sherrif is recording she reads out a letter of Avery’s on the desk which is an invitation as part of the Avery Initiative and she starts to laugh and joke ‘Doubt he’s gonna make that’.

To me that was a key part of evidence, why would she say that? There was no evidence that he had killed Theresa. She’s clearly saying he’s going to be going to prison. She knows the outcome already because its PLANNED!!

3) Kenneth Peterson

  • Kenneth Peterson clearly dislikes Steven Avery, he falsely accused him of the previous rape crime therefore why was anyone from that district police force allowed anywhere near this case?
  • In a TV interview Kenneth Peterson states ‘if we wanted him elimated we could of done it easily’, when prompted by the reporter to clarify he states ‘ Well if we want him in prison or killed, well we could just kill him’ WOW. HOLD UP. So he unwittingly just confessed how easy it would be for them to put Steven into prison or even kill him if they wanted too?

4) Jodi

  • Jodi was given a no contact order for the Avery’s and she was pulled up on this 3/4 times, one of which was for simply smiling at him. In that smile did she have verbal contact no?
  • It seems they harassed her until she wanted to get away from the Avery’s, it follows the exact same pattern as the ‘Attempted Rape Case’, Stephen lost his wife now he has lost his girlfriend who he loves the most. They are isolating him.

5) The Car

  • When the Car was found it was hidden just under some branches. If Steven had committed an offence why would he go to such great lengths to hide evidence and the body if he was going to leave the car in plain view? He had a crusher at his disposal which he knew how to use.

5) Brandon’s Lawyer – Len

  • Len was appointed by the state because Brandon’s family couldn’t afford a lawyer, it seems very fishy that the Lawyer that was chosen for Brandon happened to obviously feel how guilty he was.
  • He let Brandon be interviewed by the investigators on his own, why?
  • He wanted Brandon to take a plea bargain by saying he was guilty, but Brandon has stated on numerous occasions he doesn’t understand what’s going on because he didn’t do anything.
  • Len hires an investigator to speak to Brandon alone, who wants Brandon to sign a form and write what happened down. Brandon does and he continuously tells Brandon he is lying and not writing the truth, constantly prompting him to write about Theresa, a similar technique used by the easier detectives? We know Brandon already wants to give the right answer so he guesses, he’s doing what they want to get it right.
  • Why is this very same detective making him draw vivid pictures, prompting him to draw it bigger and a certain way. Again feeding him what to say.
  • When Brandon originally writes his statement of events and the investigator tells him he is wrong, he has wrote a statement very specific given certain times. This same statement and timings are in his letter to the judge, so he know’s exactly what he’s said and what times from the first time, this is clearly not lying. He has an IQ of 69, would he remember all the key points in his statement to write it word for word again later on?
  • Len is continouosly in the face of the news camera’s and journalists. Laughing and Joking, explaining the situation in a way that doesn’t comment on who he is meant to be defending. Looks very much like a claw to the limelight?

This was the most shocking thing about episode 4, the seal on the evidence kit from Steven’s original arrest was broken. On the outside of the box, on the inside box and the test tube of his blood was still liquid. The test tube lid itself had a tiny hole at the top big enough for a needle to take out a sample, something which the testing lab explicitly says THEY DO NOT DO. SO SOMEONE ELSE HAD ACCESS TO THAT CASE AND THEY DID IT?!

As you can see my brain is swimming with different questions and theories right now and I still have 6 episodes to go. Although we already know that their is no happy ending to this. It is simply a case of was he framed or not?

What do you think so far? Nothing adds up and makes sense! This program is truly gripping and keeping me on the edge of my seat in a state of suspense.

Let me know your thoughts, I love to discuss this!

The Longest Ride

The Longest Ride - BD (1)

Title: The Longest Ride

Running Length: 2 hours 8 mins

Genre: Romantic Drama

Rating: 10/10

The Longest Ride is a 2015 American Romantic Drama based on the best selling novel by Nicholas Sparks.

The Longest Ride features a young couple, Luke who is a former champion Bull Rider coming  back from his recent year long hiatus due to injury and Sophia, a college student about to leave for her dream internship and job in New York. They seem to be two opposites who can’t stop the attraction, as their opposing dreams test their relationship they meet and make a connection with Ira.Who begins to tell them the story of his beloved wife.

This movie is truly an exquisite and beautiful story interweaving two love stories from  two different eras. Luke and Sophia hold our modern day love story that isn’t too far from the love story of Ira and his wife Ruth. We experience Ira and Ruth’s story via a series of ‘flashback’s, induced by a reading of one of Ira’s past letters to his wife.  This element of the film was remarkable as the two interweaving stories flowed freely and easily without leaving the stories broken apart. They were truly as one.

The duration of the film is 2 hours and 8 minutes, which may seem too long to you but it was the perfect amount of time to delve into the story of Ira and Ruth and learn how and if Luke and Sophia will up-stand the tests in their relationship. The Longest Ride is truly a thought provoking and emotional watch, it held an array of elements to make it truly a great movie. There was of course the romantic element showcased in a number of ways through numerous characters, their was tension built up between our two main characters, comedy and heart wrenching sadness. This film is without a doubt an emotional roller coaster, it sure had me crying for the duration.

For any Nicholas Sparks Lover out there, be sure to check out this beautiful love story.

This was a little different from my usual Book Reviews, I fancied incorporating new elements to my blog. I would be grateful for any constructive criticism and comments.
