Books I Read in 2018

Hey Guys!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! As we are coming up to the New Year I wanted to do a post on the books I read in 2018. This year I had set my Goodreads Goal at 50… and well I read 19. But even though I am considerably out on achieving that goal, I am taking this as a major win.

You know from my previous posts that throughout this year I was juggling my masters degree and two jobs, so 19 books to me is an achievement. After finishing up my degree, I fell out of love with reading for a few months and I am only just picking up a book again. In 2017 I also had the same goal as this year; 50 books and sadly I hit 45. Much closer than this year though….

Lets take a look at the books I have read this year…

The books I have read this year have been amazing, so many wonderful reads from Dear Martin, Lord of Shadows to The Hundredth Queen. I have reviewed a large number of these books on my blog previously if any of you are interested in finding out more about a particular one.

Looking through this list, I have to say I am happy because a bunch of these books have been on my TBR pile for so long and I have successfully been ticking off books I have owned for ages and not picked up. Also I have begun reading more diverse reads with main characters who are Indian, Asian-American or African -American. It is nice to see how my reading is developing.

In 2019 I am going to set my challenge once again at 50. Third times a charm right? I am determined to smash that goal and fall in love with reading once again. I also have a giant TBR pile staring at me, making me feel guilty so I have to challenge myself to knock through that pile!

lets talk

What is your Reading Goal for 2019?

Did you receive any books for Christmas? Be sure to tell them me in the comments!

  1. I hope you will reach your goal of 50 books, I didn’t last year, so I tuned it down to 40. Here’s to hoping we both have a good reading year in 2019.
As for your books from the previous year, I am so happy you enjoyed Dear Martin. That was an important one for me too 😀

  2. Goodluck with your reading goal, Han ❤️
I don’t even know how many books I read this year, but I do know that it wasn’t a lot. The Thousandth Floor & Always and Forever Lara Jean were two of my favourite reads from last year.

      1. Since I had such a difficult and busy year last year I felt and I put SO much pressure on myself to read, I’ve decided to not set a reading goal for this year. The aim is to read as many books as I have time for ❤️

I really want to get caught up with all the amazing releases from 2018 and also make some time for new exciting 2019 releases!

  3. Despite not reading as much as you hoped, you still read some amazing books and that’s what matters, quality over quantity! I’m glad to see Lara Jean here, I really loved that last book in the series. I need to read Dear, Martin soon, too, it sounds like such a great read 🙂
Best of luck for your goal Hannah, you’ll do great! Sending you tons of love ❤ ❤
