Hey Guys!
Schools out for Summer! At least here in the UK it is, although you wouldn’t think summer was here with the constant rain were having. But whilst I’m wrapping up warm, some of you might be grabbing your suitcases, sunglasses and enjoying the heat. You know one thing that would make it better? A book!
So for this post I am going to be recommending you 10 fantasy/dystopian book series to pick up this summer. For me summer was always the perfect time to get into Fantasy books because my brain would only be focused on Work rather than Work and University. So I could lose myself in a world and commit myself to a series with 6 books without feeling guilty or pressured.
Below are 10 book series which I have adored reading. I have included links to my reviews if I have done them on the series – all of which are SPOILER FREE. I have also included the Buying Links and Goodreads pages because I know when I’m searching for books to read I like to be able to find them fast.

If you are looking for your next read then be sure to pick one of these up, I’m sure you will not be disappointed. I love recommending books and hearing about your experiences with them, so if you do choose to pick one up let me know how you find it!
I will be making other Summer Reading List posts too, in the hopes to inspire you to pick up your next best read!
I am so happy to see Harry Potter and The Hunger Games on your list, love both of these so much! I have never read a Maas book and, if I’m curious about all the hype, I am also a bit nervous because there is some drama surrounding her books at times. I’m glad you recommend some of her books though! 🙂
Also, I so need to read Six of Crows someday ahah, I’m the only one left who hasn’t read that one. Ooops…. haha 🙂

Maas is definitely a person I think you either love or hate. If you are going to try her I don’t know which to suggest first either because i’ve ended up loving both (still have to finish Empire of Storms though). Perhaps ACOTAR because its only 3 books so you won’t be getting into 6 books. She is a good fantasy writer though thats for sure. Nothing will beat potter though, never ever.

OH thank you for the recommendation, Hannah! I just don’t know what to do, everyone’s talking about her and her books, in a good or bad way, and I’m half curious to read at least one book by her 🙂

Go into one when you are somewhat blind, so don’t read too many posts on them or read into the story synopsis and then your going in fresh and just thinking for yourself. Sometimes a hype can ruin a book for me ❤

I love all of these series so much!! The Hunger Games is actually what got me into reading YA books!😂 Vampire Academy and Harry Potter are two of my favorite series so I completely agree! The only books I have yet to read are ACOTAR and Six Of Crows!

That’s so exciting! I love hearing what series got people in YA, for me it was actually Twilight and then The Mortal Instruments! Six of Crows is soo good! I can’t wait for you to try it, you must tell me what you think when you do!

I’ll make sure to!💗 Also, I might be very very late but I’m also planning on reading Twilight to see what all the fuss is about!

I was thinking about re-reading that at some point. Twilight is one of those that many people loved back in the day and now don’t really like. There was once a time that I couldn’t put it down, I was so obsessed. I’m talking I had to read it or watch a bit of the movie to even sleep at night… I’m over that now aha

Lovely post Hannah 🌸
There are so many books on this list that I haven’t read yet 😭 The book I want to read most on this list is Six of Crows, I just need to get to it before the end of the year! I also really want to read Clockwork Angel, but I still have to finish book 2-4 in The Mortal Instruments series 🙈 I’m definitely on the fence about reading ACOTAR and Throne of Glass; I’m not sure whether I’ll enjoy both those series, maybe one day I’ll give it a go.

Thank you Michelle ❤ You could read Clockwork Angel without finishing The Mortal Instruments, it is new characters and set in London in 1870's If I remember correctly. Many people have read those before TMI. I hope you do give them all a go one day, I ended up loving them all!

I’ve read somewhere that Cassandra recommends reading the first four books in TMI series and then only TID. Apparently you might get spoiled for something, so I don’t know! I’ll probably read them in that order 🌸

Oh really? I’m trying to think what could potentially spoil you but its been so long. Perhaps I should reread them as well haha! ❤

I love Harry Potter, Divergent and Six of Crows!! I really liked the Vampire Academy books I’ve read and need to finish the series! I’ve also only read the first book in The Hunger Games haha. I need to finish that one day too.

Really? Lauren you must read the other books! Catching Fire is very good I have to say. It is also my favourite movie out of them all.
