Christmas Gift Guide – Bookish Gifts on a budget

Hey Guys!

It’s December, it’s Christmas time. Cue panic for gift buying and sheer amount of ‘WHAT COULD I BUY FOR THEM?!‘ moments.

As we all know Christmas can be pretty expensive, it all adds up and I have rather a big family so it definitely is for me but I thought it would be a fun idea to do a Christmas Gift Guide, bookish gifts on a budget. Have a loved one in your life who loves reading? then keep on reading to see some websites/options you may not have considered. Remember its the thought that counts not the monetary value.

 Bookmarks

Everyone who reads could use a bookmark, its something that doesn’t matter how many you have. An Etsy store which I really like is Etsy – Skinny Hues, they offer handmade watercolour bookmarks.  They are absolutely beautiful and I have about 4 myself. Here is an example of 2 of the ones I own:

draco

What’s great is they are fantastic quality and also cheap, some of them are £1.90?!  you could buy a bunch! The designs range from Book Inspired to General Reading Quotes. Not to mention Crini the Owner also does custom designs so if they don’t have the quote you are looking for then just contact her and see if she can design you one!

Jewellery

Jewellery doesn’t have to break the bank. Pastel Clouds is a UK Brand which offers beautiful Jewellery including some bookish related items for example:

A coffee cup necklace for the Gilmore Girls lover?  A crown ring for the ones who love Royalty books such as Red Queen or The Selection series. Each of these items are all under £5.

I was introduced to this brand from Fairyloot, I received a Little Russian Doll necklace in my September Box and it’s absolutely gorgeous and great quality!

Stickers and More

Redbubble | Society 6

Wonderless Designs is run by Lauren aka @wonderlessreviews here on wordpress. She recently started up her own Redbubble and Society 6 page this year and she sells numerous items from pillows, to notebooks to phone cases and STICKERS. The designs are gorgeous and unique! Something you won’t find in the shops.

If you are on a budget then you could simply buy your friend a book and a sticker to match for example The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater and a 300 Fox Way Sticker!

Lets not forget actual BOOKS!

Receiving books is the best gift ever, of course I’m slightly biased in the sense I obviously love books and buying them doesn’t mean you have to spend tons of money on a new hardback £20, $20?! If you want to buy your loved one a new book to read then be sure to check out places like Book Outlet where you can get them for a fraction of the price and they always have amazing sales on top of that!

Of course if you live outside the US like me then shipping can add up therefore you may  also want check out Book Depository as they offer FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING and they always have a few options on book covers. You live in Spain but want the American Hardback version? Check this place out they will probably have it.

So there we have my Bookish Gift Items on a Budget, let me know what you think in the comments. If you like this sort of post then I may do another one for those who have a budget around £20 ($20) or so as then I can include Candles etc!

  1. You’ve got some really great choices here! I’m loving the look of those bookmarks and jewellery… and Lauren’s designs are just beautiful. I don’t really buy bookish merchandise, but your picks would be ones I get if I ever do, and I’m sure they make for wonderful gifts. 💖
