Book Travelling Thursdays – A Book You’re Thankful For

Hey Guys!

Welcome back to Book Travelling Thursdays! A tag set up by  Catia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much and Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog. Be sure to check out both their pages and to find more information about this tag visit them on their  Goodreads Group Page.

This week’s theme is A Book You’re Thankful for – I decided to choose Twilight by Stephenie  Meyer for this one. Why?

Well whilst in school I liked to read but I would never read for fun only when I was forced to for my English lessons until I picked up Twilight. I fell in love with this series to the point I would re-read the series every week. Twilight made me fall in love with reading for pleasure too, without this series I wouldn’t have known the amount of happiness I could get from reading at home and escaping into a new world.

               I owe the series a-lot of gratitude.

Original Cover and Cover from the UK

Other Editions

Left to Right – 1st Line –  UK/US Movie Edition, Czech Republic, Germany,  Russia
                           2nd Line – Spanish, Thailand , Indonesia, US/UK White Edition

Favourite Covers:

These are actually the two covers I own myself, the original Black Cover was my first copy and the white cover is my second copy and it is simply gorgeous. The pages are outlined in red and the bookspine has Twilight written in Red writing. It looks gorgeous and truly stands out on your bookshelf, I only ever purchased the first book with the white cover but maybe one day I will own the rest so I have the full white collection… when I have that beauty and the beast library I constantly dream about.

I can’t actually decide which one of the others I like least, because I’m not really a fan of any of them. I don’t like when book covers have models on them, I like being able to mentally envision the character for myself rather than being influenced by the one on the cover.
If I saw the German cover on a bookshelf I think I would also think it was a Victorian type book, it reminds me of Jane Austen and Jane Eyre. Rather than a contemporary vampire romance novel.

There we have my Book Travelling Thursday!
I really enjoy doing these posts because I get to see the covers from around the world, be sure to comment below and let me know;

What is a book or book series you are thankful for?
Which of these covers are also your favourite and least favourite?

  1. I’m thankful for Twilight as well I mean it started so many people reading more so that is one big yes in my books, your white edition is beautiful! Another series I’m thankful for is Heaven and Flowers in the Attic there such soap opera books but they made me love reading when I was a teen so I’ll always be thankful for them 😀 Great post!
