Waiting on Wednesday!

Today I am doing a Waiting on Wednesday post created by @breakingthespine, I love seeing these types of posts so I can catch up with what new releases are due out and what others are excited about. My post today features 2 books due out in November, both are memoirs which will be humorous!

‘Scrappy Little Nobody’

anna

I’m so excited for Anna Kendrick’s Scrappy Little Nobody, I have been a major fan of Anna for a long time she is hilarious, honest and raw. By ‘Raw’ I mean she tells it how it is, in interviews you read with her you know you are getting the real Anna.  I also feel like i’m very much like Anna, except I can’t act to save my life other than in the bathroom mirror or acting hungry like I honestly need that next bit of cake… that one i’m a pro at.

Synopsis

A collection of humorous autobiographical essays by the Academy Award-nominated actress and star of Up in the Air and Pitch Perfect.

I’m excited to publish my first book, and because I get uncomfortable when people have high expectations, I’d like to use this opportunity to showcase my ineptitude, pettiness, and the frequency with which I embarrass myself. And while many of my female inspirations who have become authors are incredibly well-educated and accomplished comedy writers, I’m very, very funny on Twitter, according to Buzzfeed and my mom, so I feel like this is a great idea. Quick question: are run-on sentences still frowned upon? Wait, is ending a sentence with a preposition still frowned upon? I mean, upon frowned? Dammit!  Anna Kendrick
Anna Kendrick’s autobiographical collection of essays amusingly recounts memorable moments throughout her life, from her middle-class upbringing in New England to the blockbuster movies that have made her one of Hollywood’s most popular actresses today. Expanding upon the witty and ironic dispatches for which she is known, Anna Kendrick’s essays offer her one-of-a-kind commentary on the absurdities she’s experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture.

The anticipated release day is 15th November 2016.

Talking as fast as I can: from Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and everything in between)

lauren

Firstly I absolutely adore the title, I was once watching Gilmore Girls when my brother walked in and his comments were ‘they talk so fast, how can you understand what their saying?!’... I’m a Gilmore at heart of course!

Similarly to Anna Kendrick I love Lauren Graham, she too is honest, raw and hilarious. I think they are both strong, powerful women who really inspire me. I grew up watching Rory and Lorelei in the Gilmore Girls and I can’t wait to see the new Netflix episodes and read this book to read Lauren’s thoughts and memories along side it.

Anticipated Release Day: November 29th 2016

I think both of these books will be hilarious and truly witty, I can’t wait for them to be released so I can give them a read and escape from university stress, commuting stress and the dissertation stress!

What book are you anticipating the release of?

  1. Not a big fan of Gilmour Girls but I do like Anna Kendrick so I will probably get her book from the library! Thank you for bringing these books to my attention!
