#BOOKISHHAUL

HAPPY SUNDAY!

As you can tell by the title, today I am coming at you with a Bookish Haul. I’m feeling a little under the weather today and my headache is strong. Maybe i’m like Harry Potter and Voldemort is close? I’m basically hoping it doesn’t go into a full blown migraine but I really wanted to share with you some items I picked up in town then I plan on getting into bed and curling up with a film. It’s my day off today so relaxing is the ultimate goal.

Here are the items I picked up:blog..JPG

  • Harry Potter Magical Creatures Colouring Book
  • Harry Potter Gryffindor Notebook
  • Peter Pan by J.M Barrie
  • Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
  • Love and Misadventure by Lang Leav

If you read my last Discussion Post regarding Poetry then you will know that I wanted to expand my reading and explore other genres and literary work. Therefore I decided to purchase two poetry books; Milk and Honey and Love and Misadventure. I had seen these books on Instagram and they sound amazing, basically they are contemporary poetry about love and survival. I can’t wait to try them out for myself, I must mention that I think the covers are gorgeous.

I also purchased Peter Pan by J.M Barrie, this is the Puffin Chalk edition with Deckle Edged paper. Again it is a gorgeous edition and is actually one of the books that should be on my reading list for Third Year at university for my ‘Reading and Writing Children’s Literature’ Unit. It’s a unit unlike anything I have ever taken before, I just hope I haven’t gone ahead and jinxed myself considering I am still waiting for my exam results to know if I have even passed this year!

Lastly the Harry Potter Goodies! I already have the original colouring book which features the characters and it is brilliant, it’s great quality and colouring is a real stress reliever! This colouring book is the latest release from Warner Brothers featuring Magical Creatures, it is of the same high quality paper as the original and the pictures are wonderful. Warner Brothers are also going to be releasing another colouring book very soon for Magical Places, I will definitely want to check that out when it is released. I hope it has the Hogwarts Express in it but I shall just have to wait and see.

Then finally I got a Gryffindor Notebook, in-case you are wondering I purchased this from Wh Smiths and they also had a Slytherin cover and a brown notebook with the Hogwarts Emblem. One of my goals this year is to try and be super organised ready for starting back at University in September, so I want to use this notebook for keeping track of things such as my reading lists or just any general important information I need to know.

So that’s that! Here’s my little bookish haul, do you have any of the items featured on my latest haul?
Let me know in the comments below if you do and what you think!

  1. I was at the bookstore browsing earlier today and I went to the poetry shelf for the first time! I bought milk & honey a few weeks ago because it was in the front section and I’ve heard of it quite a bit, but I have never explored the genre before. I saw a bunch of pretty books that I’m intrigued by, but since they tend to be on the expensive side I’ll wait for a promo ahah. I also flipped through the one you have here, LOVE, I’ll be on the lookout for your review 🙂

    1. I think she has gone for a similar theme for each of her books, Memories is another one of hers which has a similar cover although it has a more aged type of look. I haven’t looked up Lullabies before, what is the main theme for it? 🙂 I’ll post a review and maybe some of my favourites once I give it a go!

      1. Ah I see, I will have to check it out after Love and Misadventure then! Not sure if you have heard about it but I have also been looking at Dirty Pretty Things by Michael Faudet, it’s extremely popular on Instagram it seems, he is also the husband of Lang Leav. I know little about the actual poems but I hear it is romance.

      2. Oooh, I have not heard of him. I’ll look it up!
I’ve also picked up Lang Leav’s book pretty randomly so I don’t really know much about what’s popular in the genre and such.

  2. Anout ten years ago there were some Harry Potter hardcover notebooks at an end lots discount store for one dollar each. I bought all seven or eight of them. I gave away some as gifts, but I am using one as a telephone numbers and lists book, and I have two extra! I love Harry Potter items. 🙂

  4. Such a wonderful haul! I’ve been eying the HP coloring book in stores for a while but I haven’t decided if I’ll get it or not. (I already have three coloring books that I barely use.) And so many fantasy reads. ❤ Happy reading!

    1. I’m sort of the same with them but I’ve been finding time to just colour in a tiny section each night so far. Magical beasts is actually super pretty, i’m currently on a picture of Fawkes. I will have to post some pictures some time to show what it’s like 🙂
