The Hunger Games, Mockingjay Part 2

[Pause for my screaming]

As you may or may not know, I am a huge fan of The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins and Lionsgate’s Movie Franchises so much so that I am actually basing my Dissertation around The Hunger Games, hopefully. My fingers are crossed because I have to wait to see if my proposal gets accepted. Anyway  I sadly never had the chance to see the movie in the cinema so I finally just managed to watch it after receiving the DVD in the mail on Monday and I am almost lost for words.

Firstly it’s been a while since I have read the books therefore I cannot remember if it follows it completely or not, I remember the key parts in the book regarding Prue which the movie includes as well as Finnick and other points but I can’t say for definite if it takes its own turns. Although from what I can remember I’m sure it follows the books very well.

I just can’t believe that, that’s it now. No more waiting around for the next film, its so sad to think that its over. Of course the books will always be here and the movies so I can continuously watch and read them religiously but it is still sad when a franchise that has been part of your life for so many years draws to a close. Another thing you may not know about me is the fact that I get very emotionally invested in films/books/ even TV couples. I still feel sad about the end of Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, Twilight, Harry Potter and Elena leaving the Vampire Diaries (She needs to come back).

Ultimately I believe that Mockingjay Part 2 was a wonderful ending to say the least to a brilliant franchise, it was as exciting and heartbreaking as the first movie. This franchise has done a wonderful job in each and every movie, the action scenes were fantastic, the romantic elements heart warming or heart breaking. Overall every film has rendered me an emotional mess throughout. In-fact throughout this movie  I found myself on numerous occasions screaming, whether it be from the Game Keepers pods placed around the Capitol or when a character died or was injured. Obviously the TV didn’t hear me in relation to Finnick ‘no, what are you doing. Help!!!!’ . It was a moment I knew was going to happen but I was still  so shocked.

The cast sure need a good applause for their performances of these characters, Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson played a wonderful team, I really hope they manage to work alongside each other again in the future. The chemistry between each of them was amazing, they truly brought the characters and the movie as a whole to life for me and I will hold the characters dear in my heart for a long time. I will also ship Katniss and Peeta forever, the epilogue to this movie was a perfect ending and a contrast to the horror they faced throughout the movies. They finally achieved a version of bliss.

Finally having just finished watching the movie I had to immediately come onto my blog and rant/rave about it. Therefore this is not a review more like my thoughts, although if this was a review then 10/10 stars!

I’m definitely going to reread and re-watch the movies once I have got my essays and exams out the way. I need to immerse myself in the world of Katniss Everdeen once again.

Let me know in the comments What were your thoughts on the movie? and if you Are  sad its over?
